Sydney University will take on Fairfield-Liverpool at Blacktown International Sports Park tonight in a semi-final of the Sydney Grade Twenty20 competition.

Opener Nick Larkin will lead the side which includes all-rounder Sean Abbott, just returned from the United Arab Emirates where he made his Australian debut in Twenty20 and One Day internationals against Pakistan.

Also in the University XI are NSW top-order batsman Scott Henry, off-spinner Will Somerville, who will make his NSW Sheffield Shield debut with Larkin against Victoria at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, starting on Friday, and leg-spinner Jonte Pattison, who recently played for Australia Under 19s on a tour of Sri Lanka.

The winner of tonight’s semi-final will play St George in the final of their conference at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.

St George won their semi-final against Manly-Warringah by 23 runs at Manly Oval yesterday.

The winners of the two conference finals will play each other at the SCG after the finals.
