In total, 13 Sydney Uni Rowers were selected for the Senior A Team, the U23 Team and the Junior Team.

‘In a grueling selection process, athletes were required to race up to 14-15 times over 11 days to secure their spots on the National Team,’ said Head Coach Mark Prater.

The Senior A Team is to compete in World Cup 2 in Munich, Germany (18th-20th June) & World Cup 3 in Lucerne, Switzerland, (9th-12th July).

Sam Loch, Nick Purnell, Fergus Pragnell, Brodie Buckland, Toby Lister were selected in the Men’s Eight. Francis Hegerty and Matt Ryan were selected in the Men’s Coxless Four, Nick Hudson was selected for the Men’s Single Scull. Sarah Cook was selected in the Women’s Pair and Sally Kehoe was slected for the Women’s Single Scull.

The U23 Team is to compete in the World U23 Rowing Championships in Brest, Belarus (22nd -25th July). Sasha Belonogoff was selected in the Men’s Quad Scull and Edward de Carvalho was selected in the Leightweight men’s Double Scull.

The Junior Team is to compete in the Junior World Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic (4th -7th August). And Tom Sacre was selected in the Men’s Quad Scull.

‘In addition to those named above, 3 other SU athletes missed out on selection by the smallest of margins, which is obviously disappointing, but credit should be given to their performances throughout the season, which included several medals at the National Championships in March,’ said Prater.
