Sydney University Archery Club representative Donald Chiou has placed second at the first ever World Outdoor Archery Festival (WOAF), held in Yankton, South Dakota USA.

The WOAF is the combination of four separate events held consecutively for the first time, the USA Archery National Field Championships, NFAA Field Championships, USA Archery Target Championships and the Hoyt World Open.

Chiou finished second in the Senior/Open Men’s Recurve Division – Non US Competitors/Guest.

Chiou’s other results included:

4th Place – USAA National Field Championships

6th Place – NFAA National Championships

21st Place – USAA National Target Championships

1/16th Round – Hoyt World Open Matchplay Championships

Chiou was more than pleased with the weeklong Festival, saying “Overall, the festival was an excellent experience for me, meeting and shooting with some of the world’s best archers while getting coaching tips and suggestions from high profile coaches and archers. I also shot several personal best scores, even more worthwhile being at international level competition.”
