Members of the Sydney University Archery Club travelled to Penrith on Sunday July 9 to compete in the NSW Short Course State Championships.

The round shot was WA 60/900 where archers shoot 30 arrows at 60m, 50m, and 40m on a 122cm target face for a total possible score of 900.

Conditions on the day were perfect—although it started out a bit cold in the morning, there was minimal wind on the range.

Eduardo Delos Reyes (open male recurve) finished 4th with a score of 805. He missed out on a medal by 2 points, but recorded a new PB for a WA 60/900, beating his previous best by 24 points.

Eric Hu (open male recurve) also competed and scored 640 points, finishing in 9th place.

Sydney Uni barebow archers—who shoot without sights or stabilising equipment—also did well.

Teresa Nguyen (open female barebow recurve) came 2nd in her division with a new PB of 430 points.

Jordan Vouroudis (open male barebow recurve) shot 331 and came 5th in his division.

The team will next contest the National/State Indoor Archery Championships in two weeks time.
