Brydens Sydney Uni Flames took slight advantage from each quarter to defeat Adelaide Lightning 88-71 at Wayville Sports Centre on Saturday, 17 October.

U.S. Import Carolyn Swords delivered on all fronts in a terrific second performance for the Flames. Swords only played limited minutes again but was the leading scorer with 17 points in 12 minutes – one can only wonder what sort of scoring she will be capable of when playing full minutes.

Joslyn Tinkle also played an outstanding game scoring 16 points and grabbing 7 rebounds, while Ebzery was again strong.

Leilani Mitchell and Mikaela Ruef performed well against their old club but the Flames had too many contributors.

This solid away win marks an exceptional start to the Flames’ WNBL season which continues this Saturday October 24th at 7pm against Melbourne Boomers at home.
