The Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre (SUSAC) Gym Extension is close to complete*, with a large chunk of the new training space already open to members.

Due to open completely in late-February, just in time for O’Week, the new training zone will feature a 17-metre sled track, two TRX stations, fresh cardio equipment and a Hammer Strength HD Athletic ‘Rig’, a versatile, functional apparatus perfect for strength and performance training.

The additional 350m² of gym space has been added to the existing Weights & Cardio Rooms at SUSAC and is available to all existing Gold & Silver gym pass holders.

Already available to members is a brand new kettlebell set (4kg – 32kg), a full med ball set (2kg – 10kg), SUSF-branded elite weight plates (94 in total, ranging from 5 to 20-kgs) and SUSF-branded dumbbells (complete set ranging from 10 – 50-kgs).

With the installation of a fresh wall graphic (see above) in mid-February, the only works to still complete is the set-up and configuration of new equipment

This equipment will include a number of new benches (flat and Olympic), barbells (competition, barbells and evolution), a prowler sled, battle ropes, two Octane Assault Bikes and more.

Work on the expansion began in January 2018 with SUSF extending into space formerly occupied by the University of Sydney’s Co-op Bookshop.

Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness hosted an official opening of the space for members in March 2018.

See progress pictures below, and feel free to pop in and take a tour of the facility today!
