Sydney University Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Peter Kelly (M. Physiotherapy) has been nominated for the 2011 Sydney Hockey Association Brian Booth Medal.
The medal will be presented to the 1st grade Best and Fairest player this Friday night at Bankstown Sports Club.
Fellow Sydney Uni player, and former Sydney University EAP scholarship holder, Stefan Hesse has been nominated for the Kevin Flack Medal (2nd grade Best & Fairest).
In other news, Sydney Uni Hockey Club women’s 2nd grade and men’s 4th grade have both been beaten in their respective grand finals over the weekend.
Despite scoring a goal in the first 30 seconds of the game, the women’s 2nd grade team found themselves 3-1 down at half-time. An improved performance in the second half was not enough, going down 3-1.
The 4th grade men’s side was very unlucky, losing their game 2-1 after having a goal disallowed after the final siren.
