Sydney Uni Elite Athlete Program scholarship holder Rosalyn Lawrence has signaled her intentions for the upcoming world championships by taking gold, and the overall World Cup crown, at the Prague leg of the 2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup.

Lawrence completed a flawless run in the final of the women’s C1 in Prague, clocking a time of 118.10 seconds to edge out her Czech competitor who finished over three seconds in arears.

The gold medal in Prague complemented bronze in Germany, silver in France and gold in Slovenia as Lawrence claimed overall honours in the women’s C1 ahead of fellow Australian Leanne Guinea.

The result is the perfect warm up for Lawrence and the Australian contingent ahead of the 2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, which take place in Bratislava, Slovakia from 7-11 September 2011.
