Sydney Uni’s WNPL1 1st Grade defeated Blacktown Spartans FC 3-0 in the Preliminary Final at Valentine Sports Park last night, August 26.

Coming off their gruelling extra time victory over Manly United last week, Sydney Uni showed why they are one of the most lethal teams in the league.

In the 2 v 3 contest, Natasha Prior kicked Uni off to a great start on 25 minutes when she headed home a Carla Trimboli free kick from seven yards.

Minutes later, Captain Liz Grey received a pass from Evelyn Chronis and running onto it hit a curling shot that beat the diving opposition’s keeper to find the top corner.

Just before half time Evelyn Chronis found space down the wing and whipped in a sublime cross that Stephanie Ambrose closed, wrong-footing the Blacktown’s goalie to make the trifecta.

Uni are looking in spectacular form for the Grand Final to be played Sunday against Macarthur Rams at Valentine Sports Park.
