The weekend saw two outstanding performances from SUAC athletes in two different states. At the Queensland Track Classic Nick Hough continued his terrific season by breaking the NSW record in the 110 hurdles recording a time of 13.52 for the win. The time is the second fastest in history by an Australian and moves Hough one place in front of SUAC’s  Justin Merlino who set the NSW record back in 2007. Hough looks set to make a charge for the world championships qualifier which is 13.50 with three races remaining this domestic season.

Back in Sydney the form sprinter in Australia SUAC’s  Joshua Clarke ran a 10.31 for the 100m which is the fastest time by an Australian this year. Clarke’s time was just 1/100th of a second outside the SUAC club record and puts Clarke well and truly in the frame for selection to both the World Uni Games and the World Championships later in the year.

SUAC athletes will compete this week in Sydney at the National Junior Championships and the Sydney Track Classic on Saturday night.
