At NSW Half Marathon Championships held on the weekend at SOPAC, the Sydney University Athletic Club (SUAC) dominated the Men’s and Women’s team events in fine fashion.

In the Men’s event, Russell Dessaix Chin took the win in a time of 70:51, Dylan McCuaig-Walton also made the podium finishing in 2nd place, other SUAC team members included Ryan Fisher who recorded a PB, James Healy and Paddy Hooper. 

In the Women’s event, SUAC swept the podium with Audrey Amiya-Hall winning the womens event in a time of 79:11 seconds with Maria Gonzales 2nd both with huge personal bests and Cheryl Chan 3rd Other SUAC womens team members included June Bakken Hodt, Ane Bakken Hodt and Penny Skeen all of whom recorded personal bests.

The win at this event sees SUAC Men take out the winter Premiership for the 7th consecutive year with one event in hand, which is an enormous achievement over such along period of time. The SUAC Women most likely secured their 5th consecutive title gaining a futher points lead.

In other news Lara Hamilton won her first Australian Junior title winning the U20 event at Australian Cross Country Championships over 6km held in Wollongong. The win tops off a great winter season for Hamilton.

SUAC athletes will next compete at the AUGs on the Gold Coast late September.
