Five of the best from Sydney University Boat Club (SUBC) have been included in the list of rowers called up for the 2016 Australian Rowing Team Underage Selection Trials starting 6 April.
Fiona Ewing, Alex Purnell, Campbell Watts, Andrew Judge and cox Franc Gourlas have all made the invitational list following strong results at the recent Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR).
Up-and-coming Ewing is positioned nicely for the upcoming trials after claiming gold in the U23 Women’s Double Scull A-Final and the Championship title in the quad at SIRR.
The invited SUBC men also performed well at SIRR, with Alex Purnell taking silver in the U23 double scull and bronze with fellow teammates Campbell Watts and Andrew Judge in the U23M8+.
Trials are set to take place at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith from 6-10 April, 2016.
