Five Sydney University rowers have banded together to raise thousands of dollars for the National Breast Cancer Foundation through a series of Sydney ocean swims.

James Goswell, Toby Ledgerwood, Tom Sacre, Hamish Playfair and Nick Wheatley are all Sydney University Elite Athlete Scholarship holders.

James Goswell’s brother Alex, who has just finished school, is the sixth member of ‘Babewatch.’

Babewatch has so far competed in three ocean swims – Avalon, Warriewood and the Cole Classic – and they have raised $2600.

The boys took out first place in the charity team’s event at the 2011 Cole Classic last weekend.

Team captain James Goswell thanked all who have supported the swimmers. “We are so happy to have supported such a fantastic cause, and we are so stoked that we actually won,” he said.

Despite smashing their original fundraising target of $2000, the boys still have two swims in which to perfect their synchronisation.

So make sure that you get to Malabar on February 20 and Long Reef on February 27 to see Babewatch do their thing.
