Australian Olympic and World Championship representative Milly Clark got the win at the NSW 3000 Championships held Saturday night at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.

Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) member, Clark was pushed the entire distance by training partner, team mate and fellow Rio Olympian Jenny Blundell with both athletes running personal bests for the distance.

Whilst Clark was all class getting the victory, most pleasing for Blundell was that this was her first real pain free hit out since injury put a halt to her European campaign in July this year.

Both athletes look to be in supreme shape with Clark looking to run the marathon at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Blundell the 1500m.

In 4th place in the women’s A race was Paige Campbell.

Campbell also ran a huge PB and continues to impress having finished 4th at the World Universiade in another PB performance. In the same race, Lara Hamilton and Beth Croft also ran Personal Bests.

In was a big night for the Club in a number of other events, with Joe Burgess, Martin Cooper, Dylan McCuaig- Walton, Jayden Schofield, Marina Carrier, Cheryl Chan, Maria Gonzalez, Obbsa Youssouf, Stephen Sanday James Healy, Chris Gordon all running personal best performances at 3000m.

Earlier in the day Zak Stevens had run a personal best at 800m.

Next weekend’s action sees SUAC athletes compete at Blacktown with Trelaor Shield 5 at SOPAC on November 25th.
