You wouldn't blame a premiership winning team that were undefeated last season for taking a well earned break over the summer, however the Women's AFL club's commitment to excellence has meant they have commenced training and are already setting goals for the upcoming season.

The team trained at Steel Park in Marrickville on Monday evening where they were joined by Sydney Swans superstar Kurt Tippett.

Abbott reaps rewards of hard work

Sydney Uni star Sean Abbott was last week named the 2015 Young Cricketer of the Year at the Allan Border Medal awards held in Sydney. 

The talented, all round cricketer collected 42 per cent of the votes for the award, running away with the title well ahead of his next nearest NSW teammate in Gurinder Sandhu who recieved 15 per cent of the votes.
