Adult 'Learn to Swim'

The adult swim program is run on a term basis in conjunction with the public school term. Please see the application form and timetable.

Beginner
For adults who have little, or no, swimming experience. Participants will be taught how to float, submerge and blow bubbles, kicking skills and basic freestyle arms.

Max. 4 participants per class.

Intermediate
For adults that can swim 10-15m freestyle and backstroke and who can float unassisted. Efficient floating sequences, line and balance, freestyle and backstroke technique is taught.

Max. 5 participants per class.

Advanced
This class is for adults who can swim 25m freestyle and backstroke. Here they will build on their stroke technique, gain confidence to float and submerge in deep water and learn to breaststroke kick.

Max. 6 participants per class.

Stroke Correction
Caters for adults who can competently swim 200m non-stop and who can swim freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. In this class they will learn advanced stroke techniques and build their endurance.

Max. 7 participants per class.

Adult Squad
Participants must be competent in all four strokes. The focus is to build up fitness and endurance. Sets are mostly freestyle based with other strokes for variety. This squad generally covers approximately 2km each session depending on focus.
