What is the ‘Blue & Gold' Club?It is a coterie of business organisations and individuals who share a passion for sport. They use popular ‘Blue & Gold' sporting functions to provide affordable and really memorable entertainment for their guests. Although ‘Blue & Gold' sporting functions date back to 1997, the concept of a ‘Blue & Gold' Club was launched 3 months prior to the Sydney 2000 Olympics at a function attended by 750 "good sports" and Lord Sebastian Coe as the guest speaker. The ‘Blue & Gold' Club celebrates its 10th birthday in May of this year. The ‘Blue & Gold' Club allows sporting enthusiasts to maintain or create links with Australia's premier university and its rich sporting traditions. All monies raised go towards the promotion of sport at Sydney Uni. The various functions all have a special ingredient - that ‘Blue & Gold' difference - which enables them to stand out from the crowd. ‘Blue & Gold' Club members enjoy fine food and beverages at upmarket venues. Functions with a DifferenceThe ‘Blue & Gold' difference is the large doses of university wit that are an integral part of all functions. It is wonderfully spontaneous and clever humour. Adam Spencer (of ABC Breakfast Radio fame) is our resident panel moderator and there is no funnier ... nor more incisive ... interviewer in the business. Our function guests are not subjected to past players recalling exaggerated stories of drinking and other exploits, that ... more properly ... should have "stayed on tour" all those years ago!
At all ‘Blue & Gold' sporting functions you and your guests will enjoy rubbing shoulders with both the sporting luminaries on the panels and with our own élite athletes. Sydney Uni has now produced 103 Wallabies and considerably more Olympians/Paralympians. |

Extending the ‘Blue & Gold' FamilyThe ‘Blue & Gold' Club is keen to increase its corporate membership, so please complete the application form and enjoy the fun that we have in store for you and your guests this year. A pleasing ‘Blue & Gold' case history over the past decade involves Australian Waterpolo vice-captain, Trent Franklin. Trent was originally a ‘Blue & Gold' sporting scholar. On completion of his undergraduate studies, Trent joined the ‘Blue & Gold' Club as an individual member. Trent subsequently formed his own company, Enrizen Insurance Solutions, which is now a ‘Blue & Gold' corporate member that invariably has a table at our sporting functions. | |
