The main aims of the School Sport program are to:
Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness is able to utilise top quality coaches who plan the lessons to be fun, innovative and challenging for all ability levels. All of our staff are at least Level 1 Accredited Coaches and Senior First Aid Certified. Lessons are pre-planned to ensure maximum participation, enjoyment and skill development.
Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness has many well-maintained playing fields to cater for a variety of sports. Indoor facilities at HK Ward Gymnasium cater for sports such as basketball, volleyball and aeroboxing, as well as a first class dojo for martial arts. Tennis and basketball are facilitated through the University Sports & Aquatic Centre.
The major focus for the K-2 age group is to develop fundamental movement skills like throwing, catching and kicking. Designed to cover all areas of basic motor skill development, the program includes some modified games at the end of terms 2 and 4. Each unit runs for 4-5 weeks.
Your school chooses from six different sports each term. Each class has two sports per term, allowing for approximately four to five weeks per sport. This provides students with a variety of skills to apply in game situations.
Once you have chosen the desired sport/s, Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness organises the facilities, equipment and coaching staff. The cost is $4.00 per student, per session. Classes must have a minimum 20 and maximum 30 students per class.
