Fencing

The Sydney University Fencing Club is the oldest University fencing club in NSW, founded in 1945. The club, consisting of more than 100 members presently, welcomes members of all standards. The club has a large amount of equipment available for the use of members, offering training with foil, epee and sabre.

Recent accolades include in 2007, the Men's Sabre team won the Australian Fencing Federation Calibre Cup, and the Women's Foil team won the Australian Fencing Federation Calibre Plate for the second year in a row. Representative Jess Brooks also claimed National Open Women's Sabre Champion. Additionally, in 2006, the club was awarded Harriet Jordan Australian Fencing Federation Sabre Club of the Year and National and Oceania Veteran Women's Sabre Champion.

The club also competes in state competitions run by the New South Wales Fencing Association, participating in both individual and team competitions. The club also participates in all national competitions run by the Australian Fencing Federation.
