Hockey

Sydney University Hockey Club has a very strong Juniors section. We cater for players of all levels, from beginners up to our State championship players and State representatives. Many of our older players also play in the men's and women's teams of SUHC.

In 2010 we have teams that play Under 11, Under 13 and U15 field hockey from March to September as part of the Sydney Junior Hockey competition, while our Under 18 Girls teams and  Under 17 boys team play in senior competitions. The Under 9 group that will play in a series of six-a-side carnivals in 2010.

In summer we play indoor hockey. These teams are all mixed, and have enjoyed great success over the years. Many of our players have started by playing indoor hockey for a single season because it was fast and easy, but then they got the bug and started playing field hockey as well.

For more information see the clubs website: www.suhc.asn.au

Rugby Union

Representing Sydney University is a dream of many who love rugby. The Junior Rugby Representative season runs from late April through to early June and is part of the District Representative Rugby Championships run by NSW Rugby.  The championships involve trial games and culminate in the State Championships over the June long weekend.

Teams representing the Sydney Premier clubs, the ACT, Victoria, South Australia and some of the NSW Country Regions compete each year. The Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) 12 years’ players were Grand Finalists in 2007.

If you are registered with one of our feeder clubs (Canterbury or Petersham) and have been selected as a representative player for the State Championships.
you may represent Sydney University Juniors in 2007.

Our affiliated clubs and contacts are:
Canterbury JRFC - Richard Hayward
richard.hayward@hhmc.com.au or 0411 488 544 and
Petersham JRFC - Andrew McKinney 8344 5000 (w)

As Sydney University's Juniors Program becomes more successful there are opportunities for interested coaches within the SUFC community to apply for a coaching position.
