Roger Moten

Roger Moten commenced his first year as coach of the Sydney University Australian National Football Club this year. Prior to this, he spent six years (2003-2008) as head coach of UTSAFC in Sydney AFL 1st Division. During his time at UTS he guided the club to two Senior Premierships and four Reserve Grade Premierships. Moten has 28 years of playing experience, including 17 at senior level. He has played football in Adelaide with Norwood Football Club & Sturt Football Club (both SANFL), followed by six years at Adelaide University Football Club (A1 Amateurs). |  |
In 1999, Moten moved to Sydney, beginning with a four year stint at Balmain (SFL), before accepting the coaching role at UTSAFC. During this career filled with Premiership success, Moten also earned selection in the 1997 South Australian State Amateurs side.
Moten's coaching style is a blend of coaching styles coming from whom he has played under, including Neil Craig (Current Adelaide Crows Coach), Hayden Bunton, Ian Stafford and Noel Annear.
Away from football, Moten continues his sporting/fitness involvement as the director of his own Personal Training business in the Eastern suburbs.
The newly instated coach sees a great opportunity to develop SUANFC and help it take the next step towards success. Part of that will be all round player development designed to improve their football ability and their character.
