The Sydney University Boarders and Skiers Club, established in 1997, hosts approximately 2000 members and is the largest Sporting and Recreational University Club in Australia.
SUBSKI has a competitive snow sports team which competes annually in the Australian University Championships.
Here's what you can compete in:
- Snowboard: halfpipe, slopestyle, boardercross, parallel slalom
- Cross Country: individual and team
- Alpine Skiing: slalom, giant slalom and super G
- Freestyle: skiercross, halfpipe, moguls and slopestyle
However, not all our members have perfected their parallel turns. So, SUBSKI holds social snow sports trips (to both Australian and overseas slopes) that cater for all levels of experience - from absolute beginners and snow bunnies to Olympic athletes. The club conducts an annual trip to New Zealand, called the 'Tour of Duty' - a 10 day trip to Queenstown involving 125 SUBSKI members, 4 mountains, a snow park, and a full social and entertainment itinerary. It runs from the 13th-22nd July and SUBSKI organises every detail of the trip using our world-class connections to get the cheapest deal! You don't have to worry about a thing! We also hold a weekend trip to Thredbo in semester 2 for ~50 students who couldn't make it to New Zealand or who just can't get enough of the snow!
As well as all of this, SUBSKI also runs the biggest and best parties of any club at any Uni in Australia!
