Our program is focused on providing children with the opportunity to develop a strong relationship with the water by ensuring that participants experience the water in a safe and fun way. The program is designed to stimulate and develop far and near senses, the nervous system, fine and gross motor skills and cognitive skills. We also include land based training, where participants are involved in range of ‘out of pool’ activities that will teach balance and breathing; important to the swimmers’ overall development. This training assists in the general improvement of athleticism, balance proprioception and body awareness, strength, mobility and flexibility.
Through our program we hope to building students the foundations of a successful and confident relationship with the water. From this foundation students can begin to learn how to behave in the water in a way that ensures not only their safety, but also teaches them how to move through the water more effectively. Participants will progress through the levels by learning specific skills and are encouraged to progress steadily at their own rate. Most importantly, we aim to provide participants with a positive experience that we hope will sure they will always enjoy their time in the water.
