Sydney Uni Lions aim to provide the organisation and facilities for players of all standards and ages to enjoy the game of waterpolo. We strive to compete at the highest level possible in keeping with the laws of the game, to help nuture young talent and to continue the Lions Spirit and social network that has been the trademark of Sydney Uni Waterpolo for over 20 years.

• Academy

  • The Sydney Uni Lions Academy is a relatively new initiative of ex-Olympic Captain Nathan Thomas. It is a skills based program teaching the fundamentals of Water polo skills and using techniques from other sports to enhance the young athlete's development.

• Junior Development Program

  • This program was run last summer (08/09) over a 6-8 week period on Friday nights. It was designed for players of all abilities, aged 13years and below, to try the sport of Water polo in a relaxed and fun environment. This program feeds into our Under 14 Age Group Club teams which compete in the Metropolitan Competitions and State Championships.

Women's Water Polo

SUWWP has had several Australian representatives – both past and present – including former greats... Cathy Parkes, Debbie Watson and Yvette Higgins, and current Australian Olympians... Taniele Gofers and Nikita Cuffe. There is also a strong history of Junior representatives across all ages up to and including Junior World Champions in 2007.
