Sydney Uni Netball Club representative Georgia Marshall has received confirmation that she’s one of Australia’s most promising netballers after she was named in the U19 National Development netball squad.

Marshall’s selection followed the conclusion of the 2014 National Netball Championships held late last month at the Waverley Netball Centre in Melbourne.

The CSNA/Sydney Uni Waratah Cup player was unable to be part of the NSW team at the Championships, despite earning selection in the squad. The former NSW under 17 captain was ruled out after a glitch with her application. She instead turned out and performed strongly for the ACT as an ‘import player’.

Marshall, selected on her potential as well as her performances for the ACT throughout the six-day tournament, will attend national training camps at Netball Australia’s Centre.

Selectors have named 22 athletes in the 19/U National Squad while 36 athletes make up the 17/U National Development Squad.
