Sydney University returned to the winner’s list with a six-point win over Gold Coast in their Round 12 NEAFL clash at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday.

Jacob Derickx’s three goals took his season tally to 24 in the 81-75 win. Zachary O’Brien and Jonathan Marsh each kicked doubles, while Emmanuel Baru kicked three for the visitors in a tight contest.

The win kept Sydney University atop the NEAFL ladder on 32 points, with Southport (28), Canberra (28), Sydney Swans (24), Aspley (24) and Brisbane (20) making up the top six.

Meanwhile, Sydney University kept themselves in the hunt in the Sydney Men’s Premier competition with an 83-point win over Camden Cats at Sydney University Oval on Saturday.

Tristan Davies stamped his mark on the game with eight goals in the 139-56 win, taking his season tally to 26 from six games. Matthew Powys (4) and William Stratford (3) shared in the Varsity’s 21 goals.

North Shore Bombers head the Premier Division ladder on 40 points, with Pennant Hills Demons (32), Manly-Warringah Wolves (28), UNSW-Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs (28), Sydney University (24) and East Coast Eagles (24) making up the top six.

Sydney University head the Reserve Grade, Division One and Division Two ladders, are fifth in the Division Three and fourth on the Under 19 One ladder.
