Sydney University’s Landell Archer won the Nance Kenny Medal for 2008 when she was named Dooleys State League Netball Player of the Year at the annual presentations on Saturday night.
The recognition from Netball NSW follows similar plaudits from Sydney University Netball Club which last month named her Player of the Year and Players’ Player for 2008, earning her the title of Queen of the Court at the University.
The Netball NSW award was made at a gala function at the Waterview Convention Centre, attended by 350 elite netballers and guests and hosted by former netball great Anne Sergeant.
The award was for Archer’s efforts in the high calibre Dooleys State League 1 Division competition for the Waratah Cup.
Archer has had a long association with netball at the University, having earned a place on the Merit Team at the 2003 Eastern University Games while competing for Sydney University and a berth of the 2005 Australian University Games team while wearing the blue and gold.
