Sydney Uni Archery Club travelled out to Penrith for the NSW State Short Course Championships on Saturday 18th and 19th of May, coming back victorious with many medals, awards and personal records beaten.

The scoring round was the WA 60/900 where archers shoot 90 arrows at 3 different distances including 60m, 50m and 40m for a total possible score of 900.

This high pressure tournament environment was a World-Archery Registered event, where archers that shot a qualifying score were eligible to claim target awards issued by the international federation of archery (World Archery).

The results of the tournament are seen below:

Adam Leung scored 601 points (beating his personal record by 65 points) in the 20 & Under Male / Barebow Recurve division ending up with 1st place.

Issac Mei scored 779 points (beating his personal record by 47 points) in the 20 & Under / Male / Compound division ending up with 2nd place. Issac was also eligible to claim a World Archery Target Award – White.

Kun Ho Lim scored 249 points (beating his personal record by 79 points) in the 20 & Under Male / Longbow division ending up with 1st place.

Eduardo Delos Reyes scored 826 points (tying with his personal record) in the Open Male / Recurve division ending up with 3rd place. Eduardo was also eligible to claim a World Archery Target Award – White & Black.

Eric Hu scored 788 points (beating his personal record by 3 points) in the Open Male / Recurve division ending up with 7th place. Eric was also eligible to claim a World Archery Target Award – White.  

Sean Chen scored 797 points in the Open/Male/Compound division ending up 20th in one of the toughest divisions. Sean was also eligible to claim a World Archery Target Award – White.

Congratulations to all those who competed in the tournament. This was the first of many tournaments as the team prepares for State Indoor, Target and Field Championships in the upcoming weeks.
