Sydney University can wrap up the First Grade minor premiership in the premier Sydney cricket competition with a win over third-placed Bankstown in the final round of the competition proper – a 50-over match at Grahame Thomas Oval – on Saturday.

Sydney University have been sitting on 61 points for three water-logged weekends, ahead of Gordon (61) on quotient, with Bankstown (57), Sydney (54), Parramatta (47) and Penrith (47) making up the top six. Depending on results, Manly-Warringah (46) can still make the six.

The Club Championship will go down to the wire with Sydney heading the table on 1231 points going into the final round. Sydney University are 21 points adrift on 1209.

Sydney University Second Grade are in ninth place in the Abert Cup, but only a point out of the top six. They will be depending on results in other games to earn a preliminary final berth.

Sydney University Third Grade have the Mitchell Cup minor premiership wrapped up with an 11-point buffer over second-placed Mosman; Fourth Grade sit on the fourth rung of the Reid Cup ladder and have a preliminary final berth in the bag; while Fifth Grade are in 14th place and will miss out on a preliminary final berth in the David Sherwood Cup.

Meanwhile, Sydney University’s Metropolitan Cup side is assured of a preliminary final berth. The Metro boys are in fourth place going into the final round.
