Universities skipper Georgia Redmayne led from the front in the Students’ nine-wicket win over Sydney in their Round 5 limited over fixture at Drummoyne Oval on Sunday.
Redmayne (46) and Serena Liu (31 not out) put on an 85-run opening partnership as Universities posted 1-134 off 24 overs in reply to Sydney’s 9-133 off 50 overs.
Her 57-ball innings included four boundaries, while Liu went on to share a 49-run stand with Alice Davidson-Richards (21 not out) as Universities remained unbeaten atop the First Grade ladder and the Club Championship ladder.
Rebecca Beeson topscored with 84 in Universities’ eight-wicket win over Sydney in the Second Grade fixture at the Village Green.
The Students rattled up 2-160 off 29 overs after dismissing Sydney for 159 off 45 overs.
Katrina Serena topscored with 51 retired as Universities Blue Third Grade posted 7-220 before dismissing North West Sydney for 46 in a 40-over fixture at Bella Vista Oval.
And Claudia Johnston (43 ret) and Maddy Darke (23 ret) helped Universities to a 100-run win in their Brewer Shield clash with Gordon at Killara Oval on Sunday.
