Centuries from Ryan Carters and Nick Larkin helped Sydney University to a 116-run win over Sutherland in their two-day, Round 10 match at Glenn McGrath Oval at the weekend.

Carters cracked an unbeaten 167 and skipper Larkin posted 129 as the Students ran up 5(dec)-395 before dismissing the hosts for 279 to collect first innings points.

The win kept Sydney University at the top of the Belvidere Cup, on percentages, on 49 points, with Gordon (49), Bankstown (44), Sydney (42), Parramatta (40) and Northern District (38) making up the top six.

When opener Ed Cowan (15) departed with 30 on the board on Saturday, Larkin and No.3 Carters racked up a 222-run partnership.

It was Carters’ second century of the season for SUCC and he did it in style with 22 boundaries in a 229-ball stay.

Larkin hit 19 boundaries and a six off 169 deliveries in posting his fourth century of the season, following his 206 not out against Manly in Round 3, 120 against Eastern Suburbs in Round 5 and 138 against Sydney in Round 8.

In 10 First Grade matches in 2016-17 he’s notched 787 runs at 98.4, while in all formats he’s posted 855 runs at 77.7.

Larkin also posted four centuries in the 2010-11 season when he racked up 1153 runs, and four in the 2013-14 season when he amassed 1055 runs.

Despite solid contributions from Peter Saroukos (67), Daniel Fallins (64) and Chris Williams (43), Sutherland were all out for 279, with Ben Joy picking up 5-53 and Tom Rogers 3-33.

Sydney University will meet Blacktown in a Round 11, two-day fixture at Joe McAleer Oval starting this Saturday.
