Sydney Uni Swim club continued to produce
strong performances in the pool. The highlights were the 50m butterfly final,
50m freestyle final, 100m individual medley final, 200m individual medley B
final, 50m butterfly semi final and 50m backstroke semi final.

During the morning heats, Stephen Parkes
swam the 200m individual medley narrowly missing the finals by .11 sec.  Parkesy swam a huge personal best time of
1.59.11 to finish 9th  which
meant he made the B final.

Parkesy backed up to swim the 50m butterfly
again in a personal best time finishing 15th (24.58) and progressing
through to the semi finals.

Tim Halliday also performed well to make
his first National Semi final in the 50m butterfly in a personal best time
24.59. 

David Wise also swam a personal best to
semi final in the 50m back stroke in 11th position 25.47 to qualify
for the evening’s semi finals

The
finals session
saw Matt Abood win silver in the 50m
freestyle in 21.75, narrowly behind Kyle Richardson who won gold with 21.62.

Gemma Johnson in a personal best time
finished a creditable 7th in the 50m butterfly in 27.02.

Meagan Ramsay swam a great race to finish 7th
in the 100m individually medley finals in 1.02.89.

David Wise finished 12th in the
50m backstroke semi-finals in a personal best time of 25.39.

Stephen Parkes and Tim Halliday dead heated
in 24.46 finishing 15th in the 50m butterfly semis, both producing
personal best times.

Parkesy also competed in the B final 200m
individual medley finishing 11th in 1.59.36.

The Women’s 4 x 100m medley relay of Gemma
Johnson, Christine Kidd, Emma Gray and Kate Johnson finished 12th in
4.19.85.
