Sydney University’s five teams in the NPL women’s soccer football competition are still in contention for 2019 titles.

The First Grade and Reserve Grade teams finished minor premiers and won their way through to grand finals with major semi-final wins.

The club’s Under 17s also finished with the minor premiership but lost their semi-final 1-nil to Northern Tigers at Arlington Oval on Sunday.

They’ll meet Football Institute of NSW to push for a grand final berth against the Tigers.

Sydney University’s Under 15s kept their title hopes alive with a 1-nil win over Blacktown Spartans at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday. Poppy Tay posted the winner for the Students.

They’ll meet Emerging Jets to determine who meets Football NSW Institute in the grand final.

And the University’s Under 14s kept their title hopes intact with a 5-nil win over Northern Tigers in their semi-final at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday.

Ava Piazza bagged a double for University, while Luca Davine, Daniella Naeimi and Giuliana Nicholas also found the back of the net.

They’ll now meet Football NSW Institute for a chance to meet Manly United in the season decider.

Meanwhile, with one round to the Men’s NPL 3 competition to be played, Sydney University have two teams finals bound.

The men’s Under 20s and Under 18s are each lying second after 25 rounds of the season proper. SD Raiders headed the Under 20 ladder, while Dunbar Rovers were Under 18 minor premiers.

Playing in the NPL2 competition, Sydney University Under 16s finished fifth, while the Under 13s finished minor premiers at the end of the season proper last weekend.

The Under 16s come up against Camden Tigers in a qualifying final at Fraser Park on Saturday, while the Under 13s will meet Fraser Park at the same venue on the same day.

First Grade: Stanmore Hawks FC 1 (Jonah Caragher) defeated Sydney

University SFC 0 at Sydney University Football Ground on Saturday.

 

Under 20: Sydney University SFC 3 (Jordan Makridopolus 2, Emanuel Koumis) defeated Stanmore Hawks FC 1 (Aydin Kumburlu) at Sydney University Football Ground on Saturday.

 

Under 18: Sydney University SFC 8 (Jackson Sumich 2, Oscar Derkatch,  Lachlan Eyles, Finn McDowell, Ali Faour, Thomas McCoubrie) defeated Stanmore Hawks FC 0 at Sydney University Football Ground on Saturday.

 

NPL 2 NSW Youth competition – Round 25

 

Under 16: Sydney University SFC 1 defeated Hawkesbury City FC 0 at David Bertenshaw Field on Sunday.

 

Under 15: Sydney University SFC 4 defeated Hawkesbury City FC 0 at David Bertenshaw Field on Sunday.
