Sydney University can move into outright fifth place on the Metropolitan Women’s Division One Hockey League with a win over Moorebank this weekend.

The two teams are level on seven points after five rounds, with Moorebank holding down fifth place on percentages.

Moorebank will have the home ground advantage when they meet in a Round 6 clash at Ernie Smith Reserve, Moorebank this Sunday.

Sydney University had a slow start to the season with 4-1 losses to UNSW and Ryde-Hunters Hill before posting a 4-nil result over Western Districts, a 6-3 win over Macarthur-Bankstown and a nil-all result against Briars.

Gordon-North Sydney head the Division One ladder on 15 points, with Ryde-Hunters Hill (14), UNSW (12), Moorebank (7) and Sydney University (7) making up the top six.

The Students are in contention in the other five divisions of the Metropolitan League, with Division Two holding fifth place, Division Three sitting third, Divisions Four and Five topping the table, and Division Six holding down fourth place.
