Sydney University Swim Club members Gemma and Kate Johnson figured in the medals at the recent 2010 NSW State Open Short Course Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.
Gemma won gold in the 50m butterfly, while her sister Kate picked up silver in the 200m butterfly.
They were among 20 SUSC competitors at the championships, where Sydney University finished 4th in the overall club pointscore.
The Men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team of Stephen Parkes, Zane Jordan, Sam McConnell and Gordon Willis also claimed a gold, while the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay team of Kate Johnson, Emma Gray, Gemma Johnson and Jess Cerni finished with the bronze medal.
The open squad will now shift their focus to the Australian Short Course Championships in Queensland this month.
