On the last weekend of April, Sydney Uni Judo Club saw their biggest turn out in the club’s history, with 16 adults, 4 juniors and the support team competing at the 2019 Central Coast Open.

The Club came home victorious with 7 Gold Medals, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze.

Congratulations to Gold Medallists Rachel Mak, Brandon Szeto, Andrew Roberts, Luujaa Batbold and Willy Xv, and to Silver Medallists Myles Cayabyab and Mike Zhang.

Vicki Van Hout and Cloe Fournier competed in the same division and received Gold and Silver, respectively.

Dimitris Giantsio won Silver in the senior boys division and Mirei Kukuchi received Silver in the Under 9’s. 

The Juniors saw Daviti Bitsadze and Jordan Min each earning Bronze. 

It was Andrew Deng, Guan Lu, Janet Um’s first competition that weekend. Andrew and Guan came home with Gold and Silver, respectively and Janet achieved her first Silver and Bronze.

The next tournament for the Judo Club will be the 2019 Winter Hunter Championships and Teams on May 19th held at the Cardiff Community Hall.
