Sydney Uni Velo Club had their official
Launch on Thursday 13th May, with their first official road ride occurring
on Saturday 15th May.

“The SU Velo has been born out of a
vision to provide cyclists in Sydney with a club that values performance and
development through goal oriented training all within an inclusive and
supportive environment,” said Dave Jordan, Club President.

Saturday’s ride covered approximately
88km and was made up of 2 bunches (A&B) heading south to Sutherland, on to
Kurnell and then back to Centennial Park by 9:15am. Group B had the option of
turning back at Sutherland for a shorter ride of 60km.

“What an amazing turnout today – all the
hard work, time and energy you [the SU Velo Committee] have all invested, evidently
seems to have paid off,” said Nolan Goldstein, Founding Member.

SU Velo’s scheduled rides are Wednesday
and Saturday for now. All SU Velo rides will leave from the Woollahra gates of
Centennial Park at 6:00am. This will change when they introduce more rides in
the coming months, eventually building to 10 different rides over each 14 day
period.
