Sydney Uni Flames, Annabelle Lindsay, was named the Round Five Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League (WNWBL) Player of the Week following a couple of fantastic performances against the ladder-leading Western Stars in Perth.

Lindsay averaged 19 points and 14.5 rebounds across the two games in the West where her team caused an upset over the Stars in game one and had a close loss in game two.

Not only has Annabelle been producing fantastic performances on home soil, just last week she represented Australia in a five-game series against Japan in Tokyo as part of the Mitsubishi World Challenge Cup 2018. The training camp and tour was part of the Australian Gliders preparation for the IWBF World Championships which will be held in Germany from August 16-26.

Unable to secure a win in the series, there were still many positives to take for the team with the development of young players such as Lindsay. Lindsay had a team high 23 points for the Gliders in game three, stating her case for a possible selection in the upcoming World Championships.

Until then, Lindsay will be back on court with the Sydney Uni Flames in the WNWBL at 2pm and 6pm on Saturday 16th June at the Sydney Uni Sports and Aquatic Centre against the Red Dust Heelers.
