Sydney University Rugby League Football Club has cemented their place atop the Tertiary Championship ladder with a 50-0 win over TAFE NSW Polecats at Blackmore Oval on Saturday.

The Students were unstoppable in their attack, and unwavering on their own line, going to the break 28-points up.

The mercy rule was applied in the second half to secure the team the win having forced a 50-point deficit. 

The Students have had a strong start to the season, claiming a 22-14 victory over the Polecats in round one, a 24-16 win over Macquarie University in round two, and a huge 56-6 win over UTS in round three. 

After three rounds, the NSW Rugby League Tertiary 9s competition took place. The Lions won three and drew one, finishing the tournament as ladder leaders. 

The First Grade Tertiary Championship is the highest open age competition run in NSW Tertiary Student Rugby League with four Sydney-based teams contesting the 2018 premiership. 

The Students will face Mcquarie University on Saturday at 1pm at Kellyville Park.
