The Lions first hit out in 2015 saw them take on a strong Cabramatta Sydney Shield squad at St John’s Oval on Saturday 28 February.

Early pressure in attack from the well drilled Cabramatta team gave the Lions some quick defensive practice.  Once in possession the Lions hit back with a try to stand-out centre Nathan Rakoia crossing for the Lions.  Rakoia will be very hard to overlook for the Division 1 squad.

The Lions had no less than fifteen news players making their debut with  impressive performances from debutants Dillon Johnson , Daniel Harrison, Morrison Mong and Adam Vrahnos, law student and brother of 2015 EAP scholarship holder Jake Vrahnos.

Returning 2014 players looked fit and ready for another good season especially Scott Bunch, Myles Fowler and Club Captain Brendan Lee.

The Lions pre-season preparation continues with a trial against Cumberland College at St John’s Oval on March 21 and the NSWTSRL Nines on March 28.

After making grand finals in both Divisions in the Lions 2014 come-back year, the team are focused on going one better in 2015.
