Sydney University Judo Club (SUJC) enjoyed enormous success at the Central Coast Open held last weekend, with athletes achieveing a number of outstanding results. 

The Club sent four competitors, including Ririko Noda, a 2nd Dan Japanese player who has been training with Sydney University Judo Club for the past six months. 

At 54kg, Noda overwhelmed the competition with eight undefeated fights.

She won three gold medals in the combined senior women U52/U57, U57/U63, and U70/U78-kilo divisions.

Other Sydney Uni Judo competitors also achieved notable success.

Yuki Uemura (2nd Dan, international Japanese judoka also training at the club) won silver and Gaby Marosz (1st Kyu, Sydney University student) won bronze. 

These three athletes – Ririko Noda, Yuki Uemura and Gaby Marosz – satisfied the requirements for the National Judo Championships, and will join the State Squad to prepare for Nationals to be held on the Gold Coast from 8-11 June.
