The Sydney University Rowing Club won the Elite Fours at the Marlow Regatta in London on Sunday.

This was achieved despite the team suffering the setback of losing key member Ryan Edwards to illness. Oxford Brookes University rower Alex Holden stepped in at late notice for Edwards to assist Hamish Playfair, Ryan Barraclough and Jason Waddell to victory.

Edwards, who has now back to full fitness, will join the rest of his team in completion next week at the Henley Royal Regatta. The Regatta, which begins next Wednesday (June 29) is a knockout regatta, with races on five consecutive days for the crews that aren’t knocked out.
