Sydney University Football Club has two representatives in the 28-man Australian squad to contest the 2018 World Rugby Under 20 Championships to be held in France later this month.

Backrowers Josh Kemeny and Rory Suttor have been selected in the squad to contest the tough Pool A of the Championships, which also includes New Zealand, Wales and Japan.

Australia will open their campaign against Wales at Stade de la Mediterranee, Bezier, on Thursday, 31 May.

They’ll follow that with Pool matches against Japan at the same venue on Saturday 3 June, and New Zealand at Stade Aime-Giral, Perpignan, on Friday, 8 June.

Both Kemeny and Suttor were Australian Schoolboy representative in 2016 before enrolling at Sydney University.

The 193cm Kemeny is a product of the Cranbrook School, while Bathurst-raised Suttor made his way to the Schoolboys side from the Shore School, where he played second-row before being shifted to the backrow during his time with Sydney University Colts.

Junior Wallabies Head Coach Jason Gilmore said Australia has a tough Pool with Wales, Japan and New Zealand who offer three different styles of Rugby.

“We’ll need to be ready for the three challenges,” he said. “The hard work steps up now for this squad after the recent Oceania tournament and the players and staff are looking forward to getting back into camp.”
The Junior Wallabies will reconvene for a camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra on Thursday, 17 May.
