The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames find themselves back at the top of the ladder,  in a three way tie, after a huge victory over the Melbourne Boomers in Melbourne yesterday. The team shot an impressive 61% from beyond the arc, with Asia Taylor, Belinda Snell and Ally Wilson combining for 81 points.

In the 101-88 win, Taylor finished with 29 points and 6 rebounds, Snell had 28 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, Wilson had 24 points and 6 rebounds, while Katie-Rae Ebzery added 10 assists.

For the Boomers, Liz Cambage had 22 points, but was ejected early in the fourth quarter after two technical fouls.

Not only did the Flames light it up on offence, but defensively they came together when they needed to. “We found some form finally. My girls gelled back together and played great defence,” Coach Cheryl Chambers said after the game.

The much needed win saw the Flames secure the series against the Boomers after beating them first-up, but then losing their last match with the Melbourne side. Click here for the box score.
