Sydney University’s 2-1 result over Manly United on Sunday kept them outright second on the NPL NSW Women’s First Grade after nine rounds.

Julie-Ann Russell and Sarah Morgan found the back of the net for the Students at Sydney University Football Ground, while Hannah Peric kept the visitors in contention.

Sydney Olympic head the First Grade ladder on 20 points, with Sydney University (18), Northern Tigers (17), Illawarra Stingrays (17), NWS Koalas (16) and Blacktown Spartans (16) making up a tight top six.

The Students will host NWS Koalas at Sydney University Football Ground this Sunday.

Sydney University remain unbeaten in Reserve Grade after nine rounds and head the ladder on 27 points.

A win in their clash with second-placed NWS Koalas (25 points) this weekend could set them up nicely for the back half of the season.

Bankstown City (18), Manly United (15), Blacktown Spartans (15) and Emerging Jets (15) make up the Reserve Grade top six.

Sydney University also head the Under 17 ladder on for and against from Blacktown City, hold down fourth position on the Under 15 ladder and second place on the Under 14 ladder.
