Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) members produced strong results at meets around the world this weekend.

A major highlight was Hugh Williams taking third place in the Sydney Half Marathon in a cracking time of 01:05:44. The time was a personal best for Williams who finished only 23 seconds behind the first placed finisher. Dylan McCuaig-Walton also ran a great race, finishing 14th in a time of 01:11:35. Putting into perspective how outstanding these results are, there were 10, 400 entrants in the popular race around the harbour city.

Meanwhile in Osaka, Annelise Rubie had a barnstorming run to finish in third place in the Grand Prix series in Japan. Continuing her brilliant form from the Commonwealth Games, where she made the finals, Rubie ran a blistering 51.82.

Coming up this weekend is the next leg of the Winter Premiership. Doubling as the NSW Cross Country Relay Championships, the event will be held in Miranda on Saturday 27th May. SUAC currently lead both the men’s and women’s premiership and will look to continue their strong form this weekend.
