Sydney University finished the shortened 2020 Sydney Premier Division AFL season with three titles, including a nine-point win over UNSW Eastern Suburbs in the Premier Division decider at Kanebridge Oval on Sunday.

The Students won 54-45 in a low-scoring affair, with Aaron Day landing three goals and Nick Foster, Nick Lees, Jack Hiscox and Will Sierakowski landing minors for the winners.

Ned Reinhard kicked two for UNSW Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs, with Charlie Burgess-Hoar, Errol Gulden and D Cordell landing goals.

The Bulldogs led 15-13 at the end of the first quarter, but a big second term from the Students saw them go to the main break with a 39-22 lead.

The Bulldogs hit back with three goals to one in the third term to trail by one point – 46-45 – going into the last quarter.

Sydney University kept the Bulldogs scoreless in the very tight final term, while adding a goal and two extras to seal the match.

North Shore Bombers had taken out the Premier Division minor premiership, with Sydney University, UNSW Eastern Suburbs, Pennant Hills Demons, St George Dragons and Inner West Magpies making up the top six in the shortened nine-round season.

The closely fought elimination finals at Henson Park on September 19 saw UNSW Eastern Suburbs account for Sydney University 63-61 and St George Dragons defeat Pennant Hills Demons 88-84.

In the semi-finals at Kanebridge Oval on September 26, Sydney University accounted for St George 90-47, while UNSW Eastern Suburbs defeated North Shore Bombers 61-52, setting up an intriguing season decider that lived up to expectations.

Sydney University also won the Division One grand final with an upset 77-67 result over North Shore Bombers.

The undefeated Bombers had won the minor premiership, with Pennant Hills, Sydney University and UNSW Eastern Suburbs making up the top four.

In the semi-finals, Sydney University defeated Pennant Hills 42-30,  while North Shore accounted for UNSW Eastern Suburbs 122-25 to set up a grand final clash.

The Students also took out the Division Two title with a comprehensive 72-28 win over North Shore.

North Shore had won the minor premiership, with Sydney University, Pennant Hills and Wollondilly Knights making up the top four.

Sydney University defeated Pennant Hills 56-35 in one semi-final, while North Shire defeated Wollondilly Knights 80-5 in the other to enter the season decider.

UNSW Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs won the Reserve Grade grand final with a 41-28 over North Shore Bombers.

Sydney University had made it to the Reserve Grade elimination final where they were defeated 42-11 by St George Dragons, while North Shore accounted for Pennant Hills 69-18. The semi-finals saw Pennant Hills knock Sydney University out of contention with an 87-69 result, while North Shore defeated UNSW Eastern Suburbs 51-37 to enter the decider.

Sydney University made it to the qualifying final of the Under 19 Division One competition where they defeated North Shore 67-31. Sydney University lost their semi-final 52-28 to UNSW Eastern Suburbs and then bowed out in the preliminary final with a 75-36 loss to North Shore Bombers.

The Bombers went on to claim the title with a 97-49 win over UNSW Eastern Suburbs.

The Students made it to the grand final of the Under 19 Division Two competition where they went down 44-19 to minor premiers Southern Power.
