Sydney University propelled into the top four after pummelling defending premiers Aspley by 46 points at Henson Park on Saturday August 8.

The Students’ came out strong with seven goals to none, opening up a 44-point lead at quarter-time on their way to an emphatic 15.15 (105) to 8.11 (59) victory.

Led by Captain Tim Barton, Sydney University were keen to prove themselves against one of the best sides in the competition and get one back from Round 3 when the Hornets snatched a win during the dying seconds.

Matt Rawlison collected an impressive 10 possessions and two goals in the opening quarter to finish with 30 disposals, seven clearances and four inside 50s, while Tom Young (28 disposals and 10 clearances) and Lew Stevenson (28 disposals and six clearances) played a crucial role in securing the top four berth.

At full strength, the Students head to Canberra to face Eastlake at 12:00pm on Saturday August 15 at Star Track Oval.
