Sydney University moved into the semi-finals of the Sydney Premier grade cricket competition at the weekend without a ball being bowled in their two-day qualifying final against Penrith.
The Big Wet that has hampered the latter part of the season played a role again at the weekend, with two of the three qualifying finals being washed out.
As minor premiers, Sydney University advanced to the semi-finals when the match against sixth-placed Penrith at University Oval was abandoned.
The match between third-placed Bankstown and fourth-placed Parramatta was also washed out, with both teams advancing to the semi-finals, while second-placed Gordon gained the other semi-final berth with a first innings result over fifth-placed Sydney at Chatswood Oval.
