The grant will be awarded to an outstanding female tennis player who is a member or prospective member of SULTC, and who meets the criteria set out in the protocol below. The grant will be $2,000 in 2018.

Through this grant, the Club hopes to promote the growth of women in tennis and to also assist the successful applicant in their tennis development; two long-term goals of the Club.

“The SULTC hopes to provide a long term alternative pathway from US College programs or simply a means by which elite women tennis players may fulfil their sporting aspirations in a tertiary study environment for their benefit and the benefit of the University,” Club President Michael Walton said.

“After a period of consultation with tennis organisations in NSW and Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness, the idea of a programme for women aspiring to high achievements in tennis whilst undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate study at Sydney University has been brought to fruition.”
